Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity: The rise of new generation cyber threats and defenses
With more than 143 million Americans impacted by the cyberattack against Equifax in July 2017, and 57 million riders and drivers victimized by the one against Uber in November 2017, cybersecurity is more than ever a matter of concern for companies. Because big data and the Internet are being transformed by the groundbreaking technologies led by artificial intelligence, it can be expected that the same applies to cybersecurity issues. From attacks getting more and more complex and dangerous, to the defenses becoming more efficient, rules are changing on both sides, offering new opportunities for startups to meet the challenge.
These cyber-attacks are usually aimed at assessing, changing, or destroying sensitive information; extorting money from users, or interrupting normal business processes. Implementing effective cybersecurity measures is particularly challenging today due to there being more devices than people, and attackers are becoming more innovative. Cyber-attacks have been increasing in the past years as a result of technological advancement.
