How to make optimal use of digital technologies for Utilities
Successful digital implementations also require leadership capabilities
Current developments in the energy market are the result of changing relations between traditional market parties and new players taking over their place in the energy value chain. The playing field is rapidly changing due to industry developments on the one hand, such as local energy production and other renewable power generation, low energy prices, and the advent of smart meters, but also due to technological developments on the other hand, such as big data, social media and cloud- and mobile applications. In this study we examine whether energy suppliers will be able to effectively use their digital capabilities to turn themselves into fully customer-centric organisations.
