The Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring that the organization adheres to all legal and regulatory requirements, internal policies, and ethical standards. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining compliance programs, conducting audits, and providing guidance to management and staff on compliance matters.
Key Responsibilities :
Policy and Program Development
Develop, implement, and maintain the organization's compliance policies and procedures.
Monitor and ensure alignment with local, national, and international laws, regulations, and standards relevant to the organization.
Establish a robust compliance program to mitigate risks and ensure regulatory adherence.
Monitoring and Auditing
Conduct regular compliance audits to assess adherence to policies and regulations globally and in each location.
Identify potential compliance risks and recommend mitigating strategies.
Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, reports, and audits.
Training and Communication
Develop and deliver training programs for employees to promote compliance awareness.
Serve as a point of contact for compliance-related inquiries and provide timely guidance to staff and management.
Communicate updates on regulatory changes and their impact on business operations.
Incident Management
Investigate reported incidents of non-compliance and coordinate corrective actions.
Maintain a whistleblower mechanism and ensure all reports are handled confidentially and effectively.
Reporting
Prepare and present compliance reports for senior management and the board of directors.
Liaise with regulatory bodies and external auditors as required.
Graduated with a Master’s degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field, you are looking for a new position. With at least three years of experience in these areas, you have a strong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and standards, notably in Data Protection. Previous experience in data protection and AI risk management is a strong plus.
You possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Your strong interpersonal and communication abilities allow you to interact effectively with all levels of staff and external regulators. You handle confidential information with discretion and have proficiency in compliance management tools and software.
With integrity and a strong sense of ethics, you demonstrate great attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You are able to work independently while also collaborating effectively in a fast-paced environment.
