Job description

One of our premier clients is in need of an IT Program Manager. As a senior Program Manager, you will lead a large enterprise wide program, collaborating with many cross-functional teams within technology and business. The contractor will ensure predictable, consistent, and successful project delivery. The IT Program Manager will plan, coordinate, and monitor large sized program (~$50M in budget). The IT Program Manager will partner with key business stakeholders, IT senior management staff.

The contractor must be comfortable operating in an environment where scope, deliverables, responsibilities, and expectations may change at a moment’s notice. The IT Program Manager must bring extensive experience in relevant project management methodologies and have exceptional communication skills. This individual must be a self-starter, exemplifying strong initiative and management skills, with the ability to operate in and adapt to a fast-paced environment to achieve desired results.

Location: Hybrid: 2-3 days onsite in one of the following locations: Omaha, NE (preferred), Berkeley Heights, NJ (preferred); Coral Springs, FL; Omaha, NE 

Project Length: 6-12 months plus

Compensation Range: This role will compensate $75-$85/HR 1099 depending upon years of experience, education, and relevant certifications

Responsibilities

  • Manage large and complex projects and/or components/phases of larger projects.
  • Consult, troubleshoot, problem resolution, project management, people management, strategic planning, training, and documentation.
  • Ensure project methodologies, project delivery processes, and implementation processes are followed, including leading and driving project timeline, risk and issue management, and scope change management.
  • Develop, coordinate, and execute project plans, task schedules, and resource activities to ensure on-time and effective project delivery.
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional, cross-departmental, cross-company teams that are responsible for all aspects of a project, from initiation to closure.
  • Manage the project budget, including understanding and validating estimates, cost variance tracking and managing project resources effectively.
  • Monitor key metrics throughout the project lifecycle (Scope, Budget, Risk, Resources, and Schedule) and provide detailed scheduled reports on measurable items, such as milestones and deliverables.
  • Provide accurate and timely communication to key stakeholders and leadership on project progress, challenges, and recommendations.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to project management team and others on best practices, standards, tools, and methodologies for managing projects successfully.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of managing large enterprise-wide programs, project management experience in a large operating environment.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in project management processes and methodologies, as well as project lifecycles.
  • Ability to create and provide program status updates to C-Level executives.
  • Excellent skills in MS Word, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Confluence, & Jira.
  • Experience in working with Agile Teams.
  • Experience in banking/financial industry a plus.
  • Experience in managing technology projects focused on technology transformation a plus.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred, not required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience.
