Job description

Contract roles are geared toward independent professionals interested in temporary or project-based work.

Sia Title: Project Consultant (Exempt Contractor) 

Project Title: Senior Manager

Level: Mid-Senior 

Project Length: This is a temporary position with an expected duration of 12 months

Project Hours: 40 hours per week

Location: Remote

The expected compensation for this contract is approximately $200k per year. The exact pay rate will vary depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to skills, experience, and location.

Key Responsibilities: One of our premier clients is seeking a Senior Manager accountable for the IT Product Management success and the positive value and impact it delivers; provides strategic/tactical/operational guidance to the client and contractor personnel; and ensures the client, the contractor, and contractor personnel meet governance/compliance/internal controls requirements that mitigate risk and maximize value.

Although the Contractor is responsible for managing the IT Product Management projects and the contractor personnel who execute project services and deliverables, the Senior Manager will collaborate with the contractor and contractor personnel to: recruit the right human resources to comprise a high-performing team, which will achieve cycle time, productivity, and work product quality objectives; set standards for how contractor personnel will work together and with client personnel to accomplish project goals; ensure that projects are delivered on time and according to the standards and specifications agreed to, including when project attributes change throughout a project’s period of performance; and ensure that business requirements and project goals are understood, agreed to, and executed by the contractor and contractor personnel throughout a project’s stated period of performance.

  • Define and agree with Contractor to the services/deliverables/deliverable requirements/acceptance criteria shown within the scope of this SOW.
  • Provide coordination to obtain SCE computing equipment, software, and network access.
  • Communicate  IT Product Management standards and expected methods of operating in the SCE environment and achieve Contractor understanding and agreement.
  • Provide strategic/tactical/operational guidance for  IT Product Management operations.
  • Ensure SCE governance/compliance/internal controls requirements are met, and standard project methodologies facilitate successful project execution.
  • Provide necessary information, documentation, and access to SCE resources, as required.
  • Designate SCE personnel who provide support roles and provide clear expectations for engagement.
  • Serve as an escalation point to address barriers to accomplishing the agreed-to schedule or meet expectations for services/deliverables/deliverable requirements/acceptance criteria.
  • Utilize a formal framework for performing a review of deliverables/deliverable requirements/acceptance criteria/milestones met and notify the Contractor of acceptance or deficiencies.

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of experience in IT Product Management or related fields, with a strong focus on project management.
  • Proven track record in leading high-performing teams and managing large-scale IT projects.
  • Experience working with Contractors and third-party vendors.
  •  Ability to develop and implement strategies that drive IT product success and value.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., JIRA, MS Project).
  • Strong understanding of governance, compliance, and internal controls related to IT projects.
  • Experience in identifying and mitigating risks to ensure project success.
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with a focus on recruiting and developing talent.
  • Strong ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders, ensuring alignment on project goals and standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of articulating complex ideas clearly to various audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster relationships with clients, contractors, and team members.
  • Familiarity with IT product lifecycle management and methodologies.
  • Understanding of relevant technology trends and their implications for business.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Certified Scrum Master, ITIL) are highly desirable.
  • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities effectively.
