HKMA had introduced seven initiatives to drive Hong Kong into a “New Era of Smart Banking”. One of the initiatives being the Open API framework which has been announced recently for local banks to participate. We sat down with Brit Blakeney, Head of Innovation & Ecosystem for DBS, to discuss further on what this means to the bank, any foreseeable potential benefits, and what the top priorities are in 2019 in order to participate in this Open Banking evolution.
