Our Western Canada Team is set to launch several exciting new projects in the fall of 2024, providing unique opportunities to engage with high-profile clients and drive transformative initiatives across diverse industries. We are looking to grow our team and have several positions & roles to fill.

ROLE: Senior Project Manager - Utilities Billing Project (Oracle CCS)

OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Project Manager to manage the delivery of the Tariff Billing Implementation Services workstream for the Oracle CCS Implementation Project. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading and implementing similar projects within Utility organizations. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional communication skills and the ability to influence and drive change. As part of a Change Review Board and Design Authority, you will be in a position of authority and working closely with Senior Management.

**Please note the following:

  • For this opportunity, YOU MUST be legally eligible to work in Canada, holding either Permanent Residency or full Citizenship status.  Sia Partners is unable to cover relocation expenses at this time.
  • If not local to Edmonton and the surrounding area – you must be flexible to travel and willing to work in-office / on client site minimum 3 days per week (hybrid). Travel expenses would be covered.
  • The TARGET START DATE is OCTOBER 2024

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership to the project team and work collaboratively with the System Integrator Vendor and their Project Team (including its Project Manager) to ensure a successful outcome.
  • Ensure the Tariff Billing Implementation project is delivered with expected outcomes, set requirements, schedule, and budget.
  • Provide project management services, ensuring all Tariff Billing Project activities are compliant with established delivery standards and best practices as established by the Project Management Office (PMO).
  • Assist in preparation of Tariff Billing Project deliverables (reports, presentations, etc.) for the Executive Steering Committee.
  • Plan and report on Tariff Billing Project financials.
  • Ensure all Tariff Billing Project Issues, Risks, Decision and Change logs are updated and maintained.
  • Collaborate and work closely with the Tariff Billing Vendor Partner’s implementation team, including project management and other resources as required to navigate the needs of the project’s outcome.
  • Ensure the Tariff Billing Project team adheres to established governance processes and guidelines.
  • Review and approve all major Tariff Billing Project deliverables.
  • Work with business leads by providing leadership and guidance to ensure desired business outcomes are known and achieved as part of the Tariff Billing workstream.
  • Support the Organizational Change Management (OCM) lead and Communications lead in developing and executing OCM and Communications.
  • Help coordinate the independent Quality Assurance (QA) work that will be undertaken as necessary.
  • Monitor Tariff Billing Vendor Partner’s scope of work for compliance and ensure successful fulfilment and completion of deliverables and milestones.
  • Facilitate issue resolution discussions that might arise with the project stakeholders and other vendor partners on the Program.
  • Own and manage a common Gantt Program schedule which includes incorporating all other Program workstreams (e.g. Conversion, Reporting, etc.) to ensure a fully integrated plan is maintained and managed.
  • Support the Program Leadership team in delivery and execution of the Program.
  • Management of both internal and external project dependencies understanding and directing how changes within an individual workstream impacts the overall delivery and business objectives of the Program.
  • Participate in meetings of the Program and Executive Steering Committee if required.
  • Hold a position on the Change Review Board and Design Authority.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to other PMO roles and other Program team members as required.
  • Support and enforce the Program’s established governance.
  • Manage PMO resources and services.

Qualifications

  • You MUST HAVE significant experience in Oracle CIS replacement / Oracle Utilities implementation projects, preferably in the past 5 years.
  • Have some understanding of the natural gas and electricity retail energy marketplace in Alberta, including the applicable AUC rules and regulations.
  • Project management services in the implementation of Oracle CCS, C2M, the latest version of Oracle CC&B, or other billing or technical software applications. 
  • Experience in project recovery.
  • Experience with utility billing systems, particularly in deregulated environments, i.e. regulated energy distributors and competitive market retailers.
  • Experience managing projects in the utility sector.
  • Experience recommending and measuring key performance indicators (KPIs) for project success.
  • Experience working alongside a System Integrator to ensure successful implementations.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering large-scale complex projects.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (understanding the roles and responsibilities of various team members). Any formal SCRUM or AGILE certifications will be considered an asset
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills.
