One of our premier clients is seeking a Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt for a Senior Operational Excellence Leader contracting position. The LSSBB will provide technical leadership, mentoring, and project support as required. The successful candidate will coach at all levels of the organization, provide input to the site’s Lean strategy, mentor project teams, lead critical initiatives and coordinate project selection/stewardship and training activities.

Project Length: 18 months plus

Location: Hybrid-Frederick, MD 

Compensation: This role will compensate $120-$130/Hour 1099 depending upon years of experience, education, and relevant certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the site’s Operational Excellence (OE) strategy including providing technical leadership, mentoring, project support as required to help support initiatives, mentoring project teams, leading critical initiatives and coordinating project selection/stewardship and training activities.
  • Apply strategic thinking, leadership and project management skills to help identify and achieve significant process/quality improvements through OE initiatives aligned to the site strategy. 
  • Develop technical solutions to sophisticated problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity and applying principles of logical, scientific thinking and continuous improvement concepts to a wide range of practical problems.
  • Own and manage the delivery of business process improvements and exploit technology developments. 
  • Provide expert training, advice, and coaching to all levels while taking shared accountability for business results. 
  • Responsible for the success of a portion of the client site’s Lean strategy, guiding the successful completion of major programs and/or function in a project leadership role.
  • Conduct activities and interactions consistent with client values and in compliance with the Code of Conduct and supporting Policies and Standards relevant to the role. 

Compétences

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification required.
  • Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in the application of Lean tools and techniques: standardized work, scientific problem solving, kaizen, value stream mapping, mistake proofing, SMED, level loading demand.
  • Experience as a Six Sigma Black Belt for a minimum of 2 years in a manufacturing environment with formal training and experience applying Lean methods as a DMAIC Six Sigma Black Belt level.
  • Excellent understanding of the principles and philosophies of analytical problem-solving techniques along with a demonstrated track record of achievement.
  • Strong level of DMAIC and/or Lean tools and methodology knowledge required. Advanced user of Minitab or similar, Microsoft Visio and Project. Solid Business Acumen. Strong Project Management Skills.
  • Strong exposure to the Toyota Way, Toyota Production System (TPS) and Lean Transformation methods
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and effective presentation skills are required.
  • Must have the ability to adjust and align past experience to end site Operational Excellence standard methods with pragmatism.
