Job description

One of our premier clients is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager with over 7 years of experience to support a strategic initiatives program within a Client’s Wholesale Payments Product team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing strategic initiatives within the wholesale payments space, including areas such as faster payments, receivables, embedded finance, and liquidity. This role requires exceptional project management skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to drive complex projects to successful completion. 

Project Length: 9 months plus

Location: Charlotte, NC, Raleigh, NC or Atlanta, GA

Compensation: This role will compensate $130/Hour 1099 or $100/Hour W2 depending upon years of experience, education, and relevant certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of strategic initiatives within the Wholesale Payments Product team. 
  • Manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. 
  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle. 
  • Identify and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies that could impact project success. 
  • Monitor project progress and performance, providing regular status updates to stakeholders. 
  • Facilitate project meetings, including kick-off meetings, status meetings, and post-project reviews. 
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by implementing best practices and lessons learned. 
  • Develop and implement change management strategies to support project objectives and ensure smooth transitions. 
  • Create and execute comprehensive communication plans to keep stakeholders informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle. 

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in project/program management, with a focus on wholesale payments or related areas. 
  • PMP or other relevant certification is a plus. 
  • Proven experience managing projects in faster payments, receivables, embedded finance, and liquidity. 
  • Strong understanding of the wholesale payments industry, including current trends and challenges. 
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and manage multiple stakeholders. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software. 
  • Experience with Agile or other project management methodologies. 
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance in the financial services industry. 
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
